Wonder "Hope" Costume

So, obviously, my life dream had come true when my daughter was invited to a super hero themed party to celebrate her cousins' birthdays.  Growing up my brother and I were never set loose in the Halloween store to find our "exactly-like-the-real-thing" costumes. We (and by "we" I mean "Mom") had to think of what we wanted to dress up as and make our own costume out of the dress up bin and fabric remnants. Thus beginning my love of making costumes....

INSPIRATION GUIDE:

  • I like to personalize my costumes. For example, I did a winged "H" for Hope instead of the typical "W".

  • When making costumes, especially for children and babies, I think it more fun and often times appropriate to channel the character rather than copy their exact style. . Wonder Woman's duds are rather racy for a 9 month old so I made the inevitable tutu and dressed her in something I knew she would be fairly comfortable in. Luckily she wasn't in the stage where she pulled out headbands and bows yet. :)
